Do and don’ts
Dos
Ensure that you are clear about how and if you are being paid;
Ensure that all correspondence is cleared by the Insolvency Practitioner. Failure to include the necessary text on documents or allowing documents to leave knowing they do not include the correct text could result in the employee concerned being fined by court;
Tell the practitioner or staff if you think they are doing something that will adversely affect the business;
Tell the practitioner if you wish to be considered for redundancy; and
Remind your contact if you think they may have forgotten to do something.
Don’ts
Allow any goods to leave the premises without the approval of the Insolvency Practitioner
Discuss anything that is happening with any external party without permission – press, customers, suppliers, etc.
Take any goods or items even if you are owed money – this is classed as theft and will be dealt with accordingly;
Quit work without giving notice or without agreement of the practitioner – you remain obliged under the terms of your contract and failure to adhere to these could affect your rights.
